Central Bank Collects School Supplies for JVS

This is Halima, age 10, and her sister Kadijo, age 9, on their first day of school - not only in America, but ever in their lives. This family is from Somalia and the girls arrived in Kansas City, Missouri, in March 2014 with their mother and 4-year-old brother. School supplies are necessary for all students, but expensive and unfamiliar for refugees. Central Bank decided to collect school supplies at our Main Branch to benefit children that are served by the Jewish Vocational Services (JVS).
