Real Estate Loan Officer Monica Buth helps members achieve their dreams and goals. If you think all mortgages are the same, think again. While many institutions are making it more difficult for people to obtain the funds they need, First Central follows more personable underwriting guidelines.
"The big difference is your mortgage stays with us here locally," explained Monica. Often loans financed elsewhere are lost in the underwriting process for what seems like an eternity, she said, and then those loans are sold off to other financial entities before you even get a chance to make a first payment. At First Central mortgages come with low closing costs, no points and low origination fees.
Monica graduated from Baylor University with a double major in Real Estate and Management and has served as First Central's mortgage specialist with her office at the 9101 Chapel Road branch location for the past two years.
She began her career as a bank teller and quickly moved into the bank's credit department. "From there I was encouraged to learn more about the many rules and regulations unique to mortgage lending," she stated. "I received my loan documentation specialist position soon, as I quickly picked up on the necessary elements with my real estate background."
When the opportunity for her to join First Central came, she was ready. "I was so happy." she said. "What I enjoy most about working here is how my peers and our members are so close knit at every branch -- it has a family feel," she added.
Monica grew up in Carrollton, Texas and went to Creekview High School. She likes to explore different park hiking trails and she enjoys baking and trying out new recipes. You'll find one of her recipes highlighted under NEWS & EVENTS for a taste of fun during football tailgating. "My favorite thing about Fall," she smiled, "is the opening season of Baylor football -- Sic'em Bears!" Monica's other love is her "furbaby" Acie -- a Chiweenie, which is a mix between a Chihuahua and a Dachshund.
"I love being able to get to know members on a personal level and to help them achieve their dream of purchasing a new home or becoming debt free." she said "I find it interesting how the TV show Fixer Upper, has redefined and popularized the Central Texas housing market -- especially in the Waco area," she added.
"I think one of the best opportunities to embrace is our home equity loan," said Monica. If a member has equity in their house they can borrow against it to payoff credit card debt and/or do home renovations that they have been dreaming about. Home equity loans can fund most financial goals one may have. "I don't know many other banks or credit unions that offer quite the same services we do," said Monica. "We definitely help our members achieve their dreams!
