Fall is here and Mitchell enjoys the cooler weather of the season and going to his family reunion. "My parents are big fans of renaissance festivals, often held during this time of year," he said. "We go every year and they dress up. It's a lot of fun!" "Now you have me thinking about the upcoming holidays and my favorite foods," Mitchell said, "It's Thanksgiving dinner. I love the turkey, dressing and pecan pie!"
Mitchell grew up in Brownwood, Texas and serves as a member service representative in the Brownwood branch located at 1602 Austin Avenue. He has been with First Central the two years following graduation from Tarleton State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. You may also recognize him from his first job held while in high school and college. "It was my first job and the craziest!" he laughed. "You can go crazy making Subway sandwiches for seven years."
LEAN: His new love is a lean approach to life. He works out regularly at the gym. His goal is to lose more weight while also building strength. "I enjoy lifting weights, but have been doing more cardio," he said, "and focusing on survival training."
GREEN: Mitchell is also passionate about being eco-friendly. "I'm am very green!" he said proudly. "I believe in recycling EVERYTHING!" He walks his talk at work as he shares with members the value of using e-statements -- trading the paper clutter for easy electronic statements. "I promise you won't miss that stack of unopened envelopes, and losing the paper trail also means gaining security," he said. The less information you leave for identity thieves, the better you can avoid being a victim of fraud. E-statements also make it easier and faster to retrieve your information when you need it and they simplify your record keeping. "It's FREE to switch," explained Mitchell, "so I suggest folks save themselves time and save paper cost for their credit union while they save the environment."
FINANCIAL: "Members are always amazed when they come in and see how much we can help them," Mitchell beamed, "and all eco-friendly." Opening and having a First Central free reward Kasasa checking account and being able to apply online for a loan and even sign through an e-signature are all paperless ways to bank. Members can even deposit a check using remote deposit. "I love being able to help save money for members," Mitchell declared. "It's like a game to me to find ways to solve financial issues member have in their every day life."
Another helpful tool is being able to manage your account, deposit a check, transfer funds, pay bills, find nearby ATMs and more, -- with the free First Central mobile app. "Many of our members come in and just need a little help to set everything up on their smart phone," he said, "which I am glad to do for them." Then members can get a real-time account balance and can set up those great text alerts that help them manage their life, he explained.
CONQUEROR: So when Mitchell is not saving the environment one member's e-statement at a time, he's enjoying all Brownwood has to offer, his family and hobbies. This past summer was spent going to the lake and swimming, road trips and vacations. His favorite all-time vacation was one he took with his family to New York for a family reunion. Mitchell revels in taking care of his car. He does most repairs on his car and has made a lot of changes to it since he bought it. He has replaced all the speakers and the stereo, added a backup camera, new rims, exhaust, amplifier and tinted windows. He enjoys going to concerts. "I like all kinds of music," he said, "but I am a big fan of 70s, 80s, and 90s music -- as well as 80s and 90s movies like the Alien, Lethal Weapon, and Die Hard series."
