Berge is a junior Business Accounting major at OCU. From Enid, Berge received a scholarship from OCU as a cross country runner and the 2017 Dortha Dever Business Scholarship. She is on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and Dean’s Honor Roll and serves on the Student Athletic Advisory Committee and the Student Accounting Society. She enjoys giving back to the community as a volunteer for Junior Achievement, OCU Food Drive and the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon.
First Liberty Bank partnered with OCU in 2016 with a goal of establishing an educational partnership. The program helps support the university as well as the recipient. Berge received a $2500 scholarship toward her studies.
“Through our partnership with OCU, we hope to give interns real exposure to the fast-changing banking industry,” said Joey Root, President and CEO of First Liberty Bank. “Tyler will have the opportunity to work with executives in each department to learn more about all aspects of banking. As for us, we greatly appreciate her input and the fresh perspective she can bring to the table.”
Berge was selected from a pool of talented applicants based on her skills, interests, work ethic, and personal interviews. Applicants included a written essay expressing their desire to work at FLB. “I was interested in this internship because it gives the opportunity to learn and experience different aspects of the bank, rather than just one,” said Tyler Berge. Berge will be at FLB throughout the summer and will be in rotation through the banks Private Banking, Lending, Operations and Cash Management Service areas.
