Q & A April Vail

At First Liberty, we are always looking for ways to serve our community, including getting to know you better. We want to be the type of bank who knows your name. We also want you to get to know us better. Each month, we will be featuring one of our employees for all of us to learn more about each other.

April with husband Paul. Children Meagan and Tyler.

Where did you work before FLB?

Prior to coming to FLB I worked for a local bank in the Business Express Loan Department as an Underwriter.

Tell us a little bit about what you do here.

My function as a Credit Analyst is to work with the lending staff to create credit memos for the new and existing loans.  A credit memo includes all pertinent information related to the borrower and guarantors as well as a review of their financial strength. Each week I have the privilege of sitting through loan committee to see how the information is received and what happens with each request.

What is your favorite part of working here?

My favorite part of working for FLB is the friendliness of all the staff.  FLB exudes a culture that is very comfortable and welcoming to the staff as well as the customers.

What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?

Every weekend my husband and I can be found hanging out with my parents.  During the summer we are in Shawnee lounging by their swimming pool and grilling out.  During the winter we are all in OKC watching sporting events and rooting on our favorite teams.

What’s your favorite vacation spot?

My favorite vacation spot is Las Vegas.  The shopping in Vegas is phenomenal and the people watching is amazing.

What might people be surprised to know about you?

People might be surprised to know that I am a book worm.  Reading books helps to keep your mind sharp and is a good healthy way to unwind after a hard day of work.  I try and read at least five books every two weeks.
