Fall is the season of change and one of the best times of the year… from sports, to weather and events. In regards to sports, October and November are arguably the best sports months of the year. There’s College Football, NFL Football, MLB playoffs (lets go Astros!), local High School Football and the NHL and NBA are starting their seasons.
Fall also means the end of Hurricane Season (which is always a relief for all located on the coast) and one of everyone’s favorite Holidays- Thanksgiving. There is nothing much better than filling up on turkey and cranberry sauce, and watching football all day long. Then of course, the Black Friday Sales are the following day. My wife and credit card company love this day. So as a prudent banker, I advise you to always not spend more than you can afford, as credit card balances are one of the hardest debt items to pay off, as most of us will only pay the minimum balance due, which would equate to about a 15 year payout.
The last thing I would like to talk about is the Season of Change. In addition to the changing of the leaves, there are some big changes coming to the Bank this fall. We have temporarily closed the Seawall Bank in Galveston to make room for a new, spectacular building in its place, which we hope to have ready before next Fall. In the meantime, you can visit the Seawall Bank employees for all your needs at our Main Location in Galveston at 45th and Ave O ½. Our lending staff at HomeTown Bank are always available to assist you with your needs. Enjoy your holiday season!
