Following is a excerpt from a conversation with Jamie Pearson, the Assistant Manager and Business Banker at Middleburg Bank’s office on Fort Evans Road in Leesburg.
How long have you been with Middleburg Bank?
I’ve been at Middleburg Bank for 15 years. I’m a Middleburg native and my family has a long history with the Bank, beginning with my grandmother, who worked here for over 20 years. Wendy Dunn and Reggie Dawson thought I would be great with our clients but since I was so young, they hired me on a 6 moth trial basis and I have been here ever since.
What positions have you held in your time with the Bank?
After my first summer I started working in the drive-up after school. I continued to work part-time during college and full-time during my breaks. One enjoyable summer, I rotated around the bank and worked in almost every department and every branch to gain more experience.
After graduating I worked in Middleburg and then started training with Sharon Legg to learn the personal loan process and I eventually became a loan officer. In 2005 I became the assistant manager of the Fort Evans office and this past year I continued to work in that capacity but my role has expanded to focus more on business banking.
Why do you like working at Middleburg Bank?
Middleburg Bank is a great company and I like to be part of something like this. We’re a company that is extremely dedicated to our communities, which makes it a great place to work for someone like me. It is big enough that you can build your career by working in many different positions and continuing to grow with the company. I like that Middleburg Bank is a full service bank that offers many different solutions that help so many clients.
When you aren’t at work, how do you spend your time?
Outside of work I enjoy giving back to the community by volunteering with several Loudoun County based charities. I also enjoy checking out the many wonderful restaurants in the area with family and friends. On the weekends, you can usually find me engaged in different outdoors activity such as golfing, hiking and visiting local farms and wineries.
What’s one thing that most people would be surprised to learn about you?
Even though I don’t cook elaborate meals as often as I would like, when I do I can turn out some exquisite dishes.
