It's that time of year...
Tax Time!

As you prepare for your 2018 tax filing please remember a few things:

  • 1099’s for Interest Earned are in the mail and should be received by January 31st.  Former Braintree Cooperative Bank clients will receive 1099’s for the full year of interest earned only from South Shore Bank.
  • 1098’s for Interest Paid on mortgage loans are also in the mail.  For those clients that we utilized a third-party processor to service their loans for the first half of the year – you will receive two 1098’s, one for payments received from January through May 7 (which will have South Shore Bank name with a New Jersey P.O. Box address) and a separate one for payments received from May 8th through the end of the year.  You will combine both figures for your tax filing.
  • You may make your annual IRA (Individual Retirement Account) contribution for 2018 up through April 17, 2019. Because of the Patriot’s Day holiday on the 15th and the Emancipation Day holiday on the 16th in the District of Columbia, all Massachusetts and Maine residents have until April 17, 2019 to file their returns.  Please visit any one of our branch locations to make your contribution (and consult your tax consultant for individual guidance).
