Tis’ the Season…for the most wonderful time of the year!

Whether we are ready or not, we are heading full force into the Holiday season! Luckily this is Club 50’s favorite time of the year. We like to think the busier the better! We have a very busy month ahead of us, including our final trip of the year coming up the end of this month on Thursday, November, 29th.   Shortly after, it’s Holiday Party time, and on top of it all, in our “spare time” we will be planning all the trips for 2019!

To recap:
Last month we had a sold-out leaf peeping trip out along the historic Mohawk Trail. The trip was so popular at the initial sign-up, a second date had been added. Therefore we set out West (to Western Mass that is!) two times last month, the first on October 12th and again on October 18th. Unfortunately this year the foliage all across the New England peaked much later than usual. The leaves on both trips proved to be not as bright as we all anticipated, however we still had a lovely day escaping the city! The trip highlights included a fabulous lunch at the quaint and lovely Whatley Inn in Whatley, MA,  as well as iconic stops along the Mohawk Trail such as The Bridge of Flowers in Sherburne Falls and the “hairpin turn” in North Adams. While the foliage each year may be unpredictable, making the best out of a daytrip is always a sure thing with the Club 50 group!

Speaking of daytrips, The Club was already out and about on another trip earlier this month. On Thursday, November 1st, it was a day that put us all in the mood for a melody! We headed into the city to one of our favorite restaurants with some of the best views around, The Venezia Restaurant in Dorchester, MA. The Venezia hosted a delicious luncheon followed by a toe-tapping dueling piano performance by the Flying Ivories! An all-request sing-along was right up our allies. Check out this month’s “Featured Photo” for a snapshot of the fun!

Now let’s talk about what we have coming up for the end of the year…we have our final (and sold out) daytrip of 2018 on Thursday, November 29th, to Edaville for The Christmas Festival of Lights!     What better way to get into the holiday spirit than being surrounded by over eighteen million twinkling lights! We can’t wait to spend our day as we tour through Edaville’s enchanting wonderland. Our day will include lunch at the Boston Tavern, entry into the The Christmas Festival of Lights, a train ride, and time to explore The Dickens Village Gift Shop filled with local craft vendors and much more!

Last but certainly not least, we want to make sure everyone knows about our upcoming Holiday Parties on Wednesday, December 5th and 12th! Hopefully you all received invitations in the mail, as most of you have sent in your reservations already. However we want to make sure no one misses out on a truly wonderful night. Please reach out to Connie or myself if you are still planning to attend, as we are still accepting reservations through the month of November! We look forward to seeing you all there for another eventful celebration! More information on both parties, as well as the reservation form, can be found under the “Club 50 Opportunities” column! Enjoy the fun, festive season that is ahead!

And as always, additional details about trips and Club 50 memberships are only a phone call or an email away! Please feel free to contact Connie Braceland (617-928-2338 or cbraceland@watertownsavings.com) or Lynne Paolillo (617-928-2337 or lpaolillo@watertownsavings.com) or stop by the Main Office to see us!

Hope to see you at one (or more) of our events before the end of the year!
