We’re Making Horse Sense!
by Connie Braceland

We’re not horsing around here at Club 50 – we’re continuing to put together the trips you ask for! What has been on your bucket list? The Kentucky Derby, April 30-May 7, 2017!

Join us for our Kentucky Derby Preview & Sign Up Event at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at the American Legion Post 440. Our 8-day/7-night adventure not only features excellent Churchill Downs Grandstand Seats, but so many other treats, including Graceland, a Grand Ole Opry Evening Show, a bourbon tasting, a horse farm tour, and 14 meals such as a Derby Day Brunch Cruise and a Nashville Nightlife Dinner Show.

Is your pulse racing to be part of this trip? Then buy the biggest, boldest Derby hat you can find and reserve your seat for the preview by July 14 – call Karen at 617-928-2337 or email kcondor@watertownsavings.com.

And we have a theme going – closer to home and closer on the calendar is another oft-requested trip … Saratoga, August 16-18! Please see “Club 50 Opportunities” for details, including the first-day sign-up this month.

This month we’re also sharing the itinerary and first-day sign-up information for Martha’s Vineyard, July 28. Not a day-trip survey goes by in which requests for future trips includes the Vineyard – and believe us, it’s no trouble to oblige! Please see “Save the Date” for more.

We’re also still taking signups for our Boston Duck Tour Tuesday, June 28: We have sold out so we have started a waiting list – but if we get a few more of you to join us, we can do a second bus!

And now that the summer is finally just mere days away, don’t forget to stop by and say hi at WSB’s Customer Appreciation Cookouts – kicking off June 24 at our Arlington Branch, 980 Mass. Ave. Please find the schedule on the Bank’s website or pick up the list of cookouts at your favorite branch!

Everyone wants to be on “island time”! This is a very popular day-trip request; in fact, when we went in 2012, we had such a big turnout for sign-up that we did the trip twice!

White Mountains Wonderland!

Left to right: Robert & Elizabeth Berberian, John & Josephine Ovoian, and Robin & Larry Bianchi are among the Club 50 members and guests who had a fine time enjoying the Omni Mount Washington Resort and its many amenities! Our relaxing three-day mid-May escape to the White Mountains of New Hampshire included a fun visit to the Mount Washington Weather Observatory Discovery Center in North Conway, where we chatted live with a weather observer high atop the highest peak in the East!

See more trip photos – including the group photo – by clicking on WSB Photo Album in red on the left. Or find us on Facebook! We’re at Watertown Savings Bank-Massachusetts.

To Your Health!

Mark your calendar for Monday, August 22, to do something good for yourself!

The Waltham Council on Aging Health and Resource Fair is happening 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is open to anyone over the age of 60, and features many screenings such as blood pressure, glucose, oxygen, and cholesterol. Flu shots will also be available.

And for Waltham residents over the age of 60, there is also a lunch and presentation from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sign-up details for the lunch will be available in the Waltham Council on Aging’s July newsletter.

WSB’s Club 50 and Marketing folks hope to see you there!
