Club 50: Twice As Nice?!

Double the fun seems to be the way of Club 50, and we have you to thank for that!
  • Remembering our trips this year, a highlight is definitely our two Northern California adventures. We were so lucky with the weather both times, and we had a blast along the coast and at the national parks, sampling Napa & Sonoma wines and marveling at the giant sequoias.
  • We had another successful year at the Westin in Waltham for our two holiday parties. It was great to see so many of you enjoying the evening, dancing to the Soft Touch Band, taking pictures with Santa, and sporting some very festive Christmas ties!
  • We just wrapped our day trips for the year this past Sunday by touring two Newport “cottages” in all of their Christmas finery. It was a sold-out day trip, so we will be happily hosting more holiday events in 2015!
  • And speaking of next year, we will be celebrating two decades of Club 50!
Karen and I hope you can join us for our 2015 Travel Seminar on Thursday, January 22, at 4 p.m. at the American Legion Post 440. (Please call or email us by January 8 if you plan to attend, just in case we need to contact you in the event of inclement weather.) We will detail all of the trips for 2015 – along with a few fun surprises, including the winner of our Club 50 Theme Song Contest! – as well as host the presentation and sign up for our much-anticipated 11-day tour of Ireland! A Spirited Salute!

Club 50 Advisory Board member Joe Anastasi and his wife Pat Acton were part of our swingin’ boogie woogie day trip in early November! First we made the most of our stop at the gold-medal-winning Westport Rivers Winery with a private tour and a tasting in their Russell Gallery Wine Bar. Then we enjoyed lunch at White’s of Westport, followed by the “Letters From Home” show, where tap-dancing, singing, and a little silliness ensued for an entertaining tribute to the spirit of the 1940s and a salute to the veterans and their families.
