Welcome Spring!
by Connie Braceland
You Broadway and movie musicals fans may be singing that sweet little tune from Little Shop of Horrors – “Somewhere That’s Green” – right about now. That’s what we’re pining for too! We will see so many gorgeous shades of green during our September Ireland trip (in which we still have space, so join us!) … but who can wait that long?

Please find in this eNewsletter a few things to help you make it to spring – namely, the details and reservation form for Niagara Falls! Ranking as one of the top trips in our customer surveys, we’re happy to take you to one of the Seven Wonders of the World June 8-11. We can promise the Falls will not be partially frozen by then (in fact, one report said it will take until May!).

One note about this trip: Please don’t forget a valid passport since we’ll be crossing the Canadian border. We understand from Yankee Travel there is a Passport Card that does not cost as much as getting a new or renewed Passport Book. But, the Passport Card only allows you to cross borders via vehicle … so if you are planning to do any flying outside of the U.S. you will need the Passport Book. If you would like to learn more, please go to the Homeland Security or the U.S. Passport websites.

In the meantime, kick up your heels with us next month when we lunch and boogie with The Glamour Girls April 16 ... or earlier: We’re still signing up for A Little Bit of Ireland’s Reagle Music Theatre extravaganza March 15.

And think not only positive thoughts about Niagara Falls and Ireland, but how about Pasadena, Hawaii, and Italy too! Karen and I will be thinking ahead with the Club 50 Advisory Board’s help when we meet with them later this month and share the results of the Travel Seminar surveys … and start working on 2016.

We Love Lucy!

Luckily, the weather cooperated on our first day trip of 2015, to I Love Lucy! Live on Stage at the Providence Performing Arts Center on February 28. The snowbanks of Providence (while not as “majestic” as Boston, but still impressive!) did not deter us from having a thoroughly enjoyable time!

Shirley Cavallo, Barbara Nason, Victoria Sampson, Ann Calabro, Trudi Murphy, Donna Power, JoAnn Agrillo, Kim Buonato, and Jean D’Amore (left to right) were among our Club 50 members and guests who enjoyed an elegant brunch at the artsy, chic, award-winning CAV in downtown Providence, followed by the hit musical, which brought back great memories, transporting us to 1952 as the Desilu Playhouse studio audience for two I Love Lucy® episodes: The “filming” even included the advertising jingles, from an actor costumed as a tube of Brylcreem to “Dinah Beach” singing “See the USA in your Chevrolet!”
