Were Turning 21 and Lovin It!
by Connie Braceland

Happy 21st Anniversary, Club 50! Ready to have as much fun traveling as we did last year?

Fresh off of our amazing New Years in Southern California (see the Featured Photo section for details), Karen and I have hit the ground running with finalizing plans for all of the 2016 trips were having too much fun making your trip requests and the Club 50 Advisory Boards recommendations a reality!

And while were featuring our first day trip for this year in this eNewsletter (see Club 50 Opportunities), find out our other day trips and overnight trips for 2016 at our annual Travel Seminar at 5 p.m., Thursday, January 28, at the American Legion Post 440 in Newton. Were happy to report that over 100 of you have signed up for the Seminar so far and we know a big reason for that is the special presentation and sign-up for our Northern Italy Tour September 19-30!

If you havent let us know yet that youre coming to the Travel Seminar, I would like to request that you please do so by next Friday, January 21. We want to make sure we have seating, travel materials, and refreshments ready for everyone and were hoping to have good weather but in case we dont, we would like to be able to call you with any rescheduling!

I also have a request that is on a somber note: If you know of a Club 50 member's passing, please let me or Karen know: At the end of the year, we would love to remember them and share a photo of them at the Annual Holiday Party, which we started doing the year before last in the "In Memoriam" section of our slide show. Thank you in advance for helping us pay tribute to all of our departed Club 50 members.

Help Us Go for the Gold!

We hope youre seeing lots of We Need Your VOTE! buttons when you visit Watertown Savings Bank: WSB is making a big push this year to once again achieve our Wicked Local, Readers Choice Gold status and we are also aiming to be first-place winners in Waltham, Belmont, and Arlington!

Each year Wicked Local and Gatehouse Media conduct a Readers Choice Poll to determine the favorite businesses in town. Its an opportunity to acknowledge the good service you receive. The WSB staff takes great pride in having achieved gold status six years in a row! So when you cast your votes for your favorite businesses, we hope you will also include Watertown Savings Bank among your favorites. Voting runs now through February 10.

Your support is greatly appreciated! To vote visit www.wickedlocalfavorites.com.

Find Your Adventure!

Party like its 2016!: Getting in the New Years Eve spirit are (standing, left to right) Kitty Tulipano, Domenic DeJulio, Maria Stack and (seated, left to right) Pam Higgins, Janet Corliss, and Mary Alice McMahon.

The theme of the 2016 Tournament of Roses Parade? Find Your Adventure and Club 50 certainly did! We were so happy to attend a bucket list event and have great grandstand seats! Theres nothing like seeing Grand Marshal Ken Burns, the Budweiser Clydesdales, the Rose Queen and her Royal Court, and those jaw-droppingly gorgeous floral masterpieces up close. We also beat the crowds to see the floats being decorated, and we were awe-struck at the showmanship at BandFest. And that was just in Pasadena!

As you can see in the photo, we also had a great time dining, dancing, and merrymaking at the New Years Eve bash in LA., and after the parade we had two nights in the Southern California paradise of San Diego, with a city tour taking us over the Coronado Bridge and with free time to enjoy the San Diego Zoo, Old Town San Diego, the Gaslamp Quarter, and the USS Midway Museum!

Want to see more Club 50 photos of our Rose Parade trip, along with other recent trips weve enjoyed? Just click on WSB Photo Album in red on the left or find us on Facebook at Watertown Savings Bank-Massachusetts!

The Best Kind of Tailgating? Indoors!

Join Connie and Karen on Sunday, January 31, to get some great ideas for your Super Bowl party, to try foods from over a dozen local vendors, to have a chance at winning some amazing prizes, and to support numerous local non-profit organizations!

The second annual Football Food Frenzy gets underway at 1 p.m. at The Westin Waltham-Boston, 70 Third Avenue, Waltham. (Many of you know it well as the site of the Club 50 Annual Holiday Party for the last three years!) The tailgating food festival, held by the Waltham Rotary Club, runs for three hours plenty of time to sample food and drinks from local restaurants, bars, and retail outlets including Pizzi Farm, Brelundi, City Streets, Uno, Waltham Boys & Girls Club, Boys & Girls Club of Newton, The Westin, Hobbs Brook Management, and Park Lodge Hotel Group (Courtyard Marriott and Holiday Inn Express) and vote for who has the best meatballs, wings, nachos, chili, desserts, and unique football food. The event also features a silent auction with plenty of great prizes.

Tickets are $15 and are available at the door. Club 50 members receive a $5 discount! Its a fun way to spend the Sunday before the Super Bowl!
