A Spring in Our Step!
by Connie Braceland

How can you not look forward to the month that features St. Patricks Day and the First Day of Spring? Here at Club 50, we are hoppin for the month of March!

In addition to our day trip to take advantage of Ronan Tynans concert in Lexington March 13, we also have first-day signups March 18 for the Hudson River Valley (see Club 50 Opportunities) and March 28 for the Mount Washington Hotel & Resort (see Save the Date). In addition, were looking forward to our Club 50 Advisory Board meeting in late March, and were squeezing in a Documentation Night for our Hawaii adventure that kicks off on March 30.

Although we are a bank travel club, Karen and I also like to do extra fun things for you! For example, when we hear of a community event we think might interest you, we let you know about it in On the Go & In the Know (see this month for a delicious fundraiser). And we decided why not share the fun? So we welcome you to please let us know of a community event in which youre involved, and we will pick one to highlight each month here in the newsletter.

So let the fun trips and events and discounts continue!

Tasty History!

Thanks to the Club 50 Holiday Parties, we know most of you have been to the Westin Waltham Hotel, but what about the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation?

Enjoy food, wine, music, and surprises at the former to benefit the latter! The 24th Annual Waltham Food & Wine Festival is being held on Thursday, March 31, 5:30-8:30 at the Westin. Over 30 Waltham restaurants will showcase their cuisine, complemented by fine wines and craft beers served by the sommeliers of Gordons Liquors.

The event brings together music, culinary arts, local celebrities, and amazing innovations. And this year celebrates Walthams rich bicycling history, with some delightful artifacts and surprises, old and new! Tickets are $50 Club 50 members receive $5 off the ticket price.

If you havent yet visited Walthams Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation, please do! Not only is it a lovely location on the banks of the Charles River in the historic 1814 Boston Manufacturing Company textile mill (on the National Register of Historic Places as Americas first factory) -- but it features hands-on exhibits of American innovation and invention from 1812 to present-day. Exhibits include Walthams Boston Manufacturing Company, the Metz Company, the Waltham Watch Factory, and Orient bicycles from the Waltham Manufacturing Company.
