Happy Fall Everyone!

What a wonderful September we had!  Unusually warm weather and very little rain!

The Fall season always brings with it many, many outdoor events, and this Fall has been no exception!

The Bank participated in both Waltham and Arlington Town Days, which were on the very same day!

Kelly Cronin was the lead on Arlington, and Arielle handled Waltham!  Great job by both of them along with many WSB employees who volunteer on their own time to help.

We were also at Cushing Square Fall Festival, the Watertown Farmers Market, and the biggest of them all…Watertown’s Faire On The Square!  Thank you to ALL of our extraordinary employees to came out to help!  We have a great team here!

Last month we told you the Spain & Portugal trip scheduled for May 9-20, 2020 had sold out with a waiting list.  We will run a second trip if we get at least 20 members to go.  The second trip will be June 8-19, 2020.  It will be the same itinerary as the May trip.

IF YOU WANT TO GO, WE NEED TO KNOW ASAP!!!!!!

We also told you the other big trip for 2020 would be the Canadian Rockies…we have scheduled the preview night!  It will be on Tuesday, October 29th at the WATERTOWN SONS OF ITALY.  Lilia Viscomi from Cruise Planners will present the trip.  Flyers have just gone out, so be sure to let us know if you are coming!

There are only 3 more day trips left this year, and then the Holiday parties!  Where does the time go???

I am looking forward to seeing many of you over the next three months.  And don’t forget to tell your friends how much fun we have in Club 50, and how easy it is to sign up!

Have a great month, and call us with any questions!

See you soon!

Connie

September in Review

Turkey Train Where did September go?
Looking forward to the Turkey Train seemed to make time fly by!
And once the trip came, the rest of September disappeared.

The Turkey Train was a great way to prepare for all of the things we love about fall -- not too sunny, filled with goodies like cider donuts and mashed potatoes, and of course apple pie. A few pit stops on the way gave us time to peruse a grand selection of wine and spirits, perfect for a train that was BYOB!
Rolling along Lake Winnipesaukee allowed us time to reflect on our summers, and then stuff ourselves with all the trimmings of fall. Hart's Roast Turkey Dinner was piping hot--followed by apple crisp, and a little gift of their famous Carrot Relish.
Has anyone tried their relish yet? We are trying to decide what it would pair with. I have heard hotdogs, burgers, veggie burgers, crackers. If anyone has found a need-to-try combination, please let us know!
Our last stop on the way home was to a small farm stand. Unfortunately Kellerhaus and their chocolates were closed for the day, but we still got our sweet tooth cravings satisfied! Fresh cider donuts, local apples, maple candies, and sauces galore -- oh my!

Our next dive into fall will be a more traditional (but no less fun!) adventure to New Hampshire. We're headed to Oktoberfest! There was so much interest in this shindig, that we have 2 whole buses head to East Hill Farm Inn on Thursday, October 17th. Cheese, live music, a family-style home cooked meal, and of course beer is the official way to usher in the fall foliage. Hopefully there will be a little more color in the leaves in a few weeks. Now this is a farm -- so we may recommend wearing some comfortable shoes you don't mind getting a little dirty.

Fear not if the leaves are still holding on! Next on our list is a trip to the Cranberry Bogs at A.D. Makepeace on Monday, November 4th where you can enjoy the colors of Autumn with a guided tour from inside our bus. There is a chance to explore the bogs and take pictures, so for this trip, we want you to bring your boots! We have a few seats left!! If you want to go, please let us know ASAP!!! Not only are we taking a tour, but we'll be having a wine tasting at Plymouth Bay Winery nearby. It is going to be a day packed full of fun and fall festivities.

Lastly, please be on the lookout for our newest mailings! We will be having a Preview Night on Tuesday, October 29th for our 2020 trip to the Canadian Rockies next September. We were surprisingly overwhelmed by the interest in the Spain/Portugal trip for our last preview night...if you can make it to this event, it is a must!! And a reminder: for those of you who were disappointed in not being able to go on the original Spain/Portugal trip, we have opened up a second trip to accommodate the interest. If you would like to go, again, please let us know ASAP!!

Now that September is gone, we are already thinking about the holidays, so be on the lookout for some Holiday Party invites, too!

Have a great fall, everyone!

See you soon!

Gobble 'Til You Wobble!

This year's Turkey Train was a hit!

Although the fall foliage wasn't in full swing, Lake Winnipesaukee was gleaming as we chugged along the coast. Arielle also earned her "muscle man" badge for cranking open the historic train's windows for some fresh air.
Safe to say that everyone had a good night's sleep after a filling turkey meal! And the stop at the NH state liquor store helped, too.
