April 2020

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all doing well, and staying healthy.
I know it can be a very lonely situation for a lot of us.
I wish we could all see each other, but we can’t, so let’s try and keep in touch, and let’s try and think of happier times!

Let us know what you are doing during this isolation period.

Send us an email of what you are doing to keep busy.
Maybe if we all share ideas, the time will pass quicker.

If you can...send us some pictures from your favorite Club 50 trips!
There might even be prizes for the best idea and/or picture!

Remember, we are celebrating 25 years for Club 50, and 150 years for the Bank!  We will survive this!

We may have to hang on a little bit longer with this social distancing, but to paraphrase Bill Belichick...”IT IS WHAT IT IS”

Please stay safe and be well.

Celebrating the Life of Sandy's Father, Al Penchansky

Many of you may know Sandy Penchansky, our neighbor to Club 50 at the Main Office.

We are very sorry to learn that Sandy Penchansky's father, 104 year old Al Penchansky, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning. Mr. Penchansky was quite an amazing man -- born in 1915, he was a proud World War II Veteran. He was awarded the Medal of Good Conduct in a special ceremony at 99 years old for his outstanding service in Europe.

If you don't know Sandy, he has been with WSB since 2007 and is Vice President of Investment Services.

When we are able to return to our normal routines, please feel free to stop by the Main Office. Until then, we offer him our sincere condolences and we hold Al's spectacular life in our minds and hearts.

Thank you Al, for your service.

We Miss You!

If it hasn't been said a million times already -- we miss you! Club 50 is truly family, and we miss all of the joy and adventure we took for granted on a daily basis.

As Connie mentioned in her Corner, please email us or call us! Send us pictures, memories, funny things you are doing to stay entertained...

We'll start the trend with a few pictures we found in our archives. We hope they bring you a little spark to light up your days as we stay safely at home!

Museums Offering Free Virtual Tours

We know many of our Club 50 members have a love of travelling and experiencing other cultures. Being stuck (but safe!) at home means a lot of our individual plans have come to an abrupt halt.

However, there are vast amounts of resources on the internet to continue to explore! These famous museums are offering free virtual tours, where you can browse at your leisure:

1. The Louvre in Paris, France - Click Here for the Louvre and visit the Louvre's underground moat!
2. Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands - Click Here for Van Gogh to see his paintings evolve from era to era.

8. Museu de Arte de Sao Paolo (MASP) in Sao Paolo Brazil - Click Here to see MASP to experience an art library that is one of the biggest in Brazil!

There are many more, so continue to explore what the internet has to offer! Connect with your family, friends, and the world through media and sharing art.

Be sure to send Club 50 some of your favorite artworks! And of course, send along some ideas for our next big trips!

Stay safe, happy, and healthy! Reach out anytime!

Tax Deadlines Extended

As of March 20th, 2020:

Tax Day is now July 15th, 2020, and the IRS is still accepting returns and processing refunds! Both the tax return deadline and the tax payment deadline have been moved to July 15th.

You do not need to request a delay, as the 90-day tax payment deferral is automatic.

It is important to note that States are issuing their own guidance about deadlines. For more information, see H&R Block's article on State income tax returns impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19).

From Forbes, an article explaining the CARES Act:

Claiming CARES Act Tax Credits to Keep Employees
Robert W. Wood

The Cares Act provides a tax credit for employers to help them keep and afford their employees. For IRS guidance, see IRS Explains Coronavirus Tax Credit Details. Senator Grassley and the Republican Finance Committee staff are trying to help too with some frequently asked questions.

Q: What businesses qualify for the employee retention credit?
A: Any employer, regardless of size, is eligible for the credit during calendar year 2020 if the business: (1) is fully or partially suspended due to a governmental order related to COVID-19, or (2) experiences a significant decline in gross receipts...(click here for the full article)
